Soil Improvement for Tuxpan Port, Mexico

  • The Tuxpan Port Terminal project involves the construction of a new international multipurpose terminal on Mexico’s eastern coast. It involves the construction of a 560 meter long quay with Super Post-Panamax Ship-to-Shore gantry cranes, Automatic Stacking Cranes and other terminal handling equipment with a 13 hectare container yard.

Wick drains are installed after completion of the reclamation, followed by placing of surcharge material for rapid settlement.

TPT will be able to handle 900,000 containers per year. Construction began in mid-2013 and the terminal is expected to start operating by the end of 2015 or early January 2016.
